MONROVIA, June 5 (LINA) – Liberia’s former Culture Ambassador, Juli Endee, has said that the nation has massively recorded abundant feats–obtaining its second non-permanent seat on the United Nations Security Council as well as achieving milestone at World Expo 2025 in Osaka, Japan, where it is poised to host the International Women’s Forum.
“I am overwhelmed and don’t even know where to begin. This year is filled with abundant blessings for Mama Liberia. After claiming our seat at the UN Security Council to making history at World Expo 2025 in Osaka, Japan, where we are poised to host the International Women’s Forum”, Amb. Juli Endee said on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, via her official Facebook page.
She added: “Yesterday, Liberians from around the world set aside their differences to support Mama Liberia as she made a historic return to the world stage. With 181 votes from the United Nations General Assembly, our country won a non-permanent seat on the UN Security Council for the 2026–2027 term, something we haven’t achieved in over 60 years”.
According to Madam Endee, this achievement shows the strength, hope, and determination of the Liberian people.
She asserted that after years of war and struggle, Liberians, through their concerted effort, have risen again, and that “We have rebuilt, and now we are ready to speak and lead at the highest level in the world”.
Madam Endee added that Liberia has a long history of promoting peace and working with others, assisting in the formulation of the League of Nations, the United Nations, the African Union, ECOWAS, and the Mano River Union, even though the country has faced hard times and has never stopped believing in peace, unity, and progress.
She lauded Pres. Joseph N. Boakai’s effort toward global peace and development, expressing that “Today, under the leadership of President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Liberia stands strong. We are committed to global peace, fighting climate change, helping keep Africa stable, and making sure no one is left behind. Our past has made us stronger and more determined to speak for those who are often not heard”.
Madam Endee noted that the non-permanent seat’s success belongs to every Liberian, further mentioning that it doesn’t only belong to Liberians in the country but also belongs to its diplomats, peacekeepers, as well as Liberia’s energetic Minister of Foreign Affairs, H.E. Sara Beysolow Nyanti, and every citizen who believed in the dream of a better Liberia.
Conveying her thanks beyond Liberia, she expressed: “To the world, thank you for trusting us. To our African brothers and sisters, we carry your hopes with us.”
“To the next generation, let this moment remind you that great things can come from Liberia,” she said.
Amb. Endee expressed Liberia’s preparedness to contribute, to lead, and to serve during her two years term on the UNSC from 2026/2027.
